Uplink transmit power control after beam change

A method for wireless communication, comprising:

• identifying a beam change, the beam change comprising a transition from a first transmission configuration based at least in part on a first beam direction of a cell to a second transmission configuration based at least in part on a second beam direction of the cell;
• transmitting a downlink (DL) message associated with the beam change, wherein the DL message comprises a transmission power indication;
• and
• receiving an uplink (UL) message at a power level based at least in part on the transmission power indication.

An apparatus for wireless communication, in a system comprising:

• a processor;
• memory in electronic communication with the processor;
• and
• instructions stored in the memory and operable, when executed by the processor, to cause the apparatus to:
• identify a beam change, the beam change comprising a transition from a first transmission configuration based at least in part on a first beam direction of a cell to a second transmission configuration based at least in part on a second beam direction of the cell;
• receive a downlink (DL) message associated with the beam change, wherein the DL message comprises a transmission power indication;
• and
• transmit an uplink (UL) message at a power level based at least in part on the transmission power indication.

An apparatus for wireless communication, in a system comprising:

• a processor;
• memory in electronic communication with the processor;
• and
• instructions stored in the memory and operable, when executed by the processor, to cause the apparatus to:
• identify a beam change, the beam change comprising a transition from a first transmission configuration based at least in part on a first beam direction of a cell to a second transmission configuration based at least in part on a second beam direction of the cell;
• transmit a downlink (DL) message associated with the beam change, wherein the DL message comprises a transmission power indication;
• and
• receive an uplink (UL) message at a power level based at least in part on the transmission power indication.
