A method and system for providing access to Quality of Service levels from within a network to entities outside of the network.

A method of communicating network capability information, the method comprising:
- receiving, from an application server, a network capability request comprising a quality of service (QoS) capability request;
- obtaining network capability information;
- and
- sending, to the application server, an indication of the network capabilities determined in accordance with the obtained network capability information.
