Integrated passive devices to reduce power supply voltage droop

A method for assembling a computing system, the method comprising:

• mounting a power management unit on a substrate, wherein the power management unit includes a first power terminal, and wherein the substrate includes a plurality of conductive paths, wherein each conductive path includes a plurality wires fabricated on a plurality of conductive layers;
• mounting a first integrated circuit on the substrate, wherein the first integrated circuit includes:
• one or more voltage regulation circuits;
• a second power terminal coupled to an output of a given one of the one or more voltage regulation circuits;
• and
• a third power terminal coupled to an input of the given one of the one or more voltage regulation circuits;
• wherein mounting the first integrated circuit includes coupling the second power terminal to the first power terminal via a given conductive path of the plurality of conductive paths;
• mounting a third integrated circuit on the substrate, wherein the third integrated circuit includes a plurality of circuit blocks, wherein a first circuit block of the plurality of circuit blocks includes a fourth power terminal;
• and
• wherein mounting the third integrated circuit includes coupling the fourth power terminal to the second power terminal.

A system, comprising:

• an first integrated circuit die including:
• a plurality of circuit blocks, wherein a first circuit block of the plurality of circuit blocks includes a first power terminal;
• and
• a capacitor coupled to the first power terminal;
• a second integrated circuit die including:
• one or more voltage regulation circuits;
• a second power terminal coupled to an output of a given voltage regulation circuit of the one or more regulation circuits and the first power to terminal of the first circuit block;
• and
• a third power terminal coupled to an input of the given voltage regulation circuit;
• a substrate including a first plurality of conductive paths, wherein each conductive path includes a plurality wires fabricated on a plurality of conductive layers;
• and
• a power management unit configured to generate a power supply voltage at a fourth power terminal, wherein the fourth power terminal is coupled to third power terminal via a first conductive path of the first plurality of conductive paths.
