Abstract

A high-pressure connector for use with a cable accessory having an injection port with an opening into an interior chamber defined by one or more sidewalls. The connector includes a body portion and one or more fluid seals. The body portion has an inner fluid chamber, an outer surface, and an aperture. The inner fluid chamber is configured to allow a conductor of a cable to pass therethrough. The fluid seal(s) are positionable between the outer surface of the body portion and the one or more sidewalls to define an outer fluid chamber. The outer fluid chamber is positioned such that the opening of the injection port is positioned within the outer fluid chamber so that a fluid exiting the injection port through the opening enters the outer fluid chamber. The aperture connects the outer and inner fluid chambers and allows the fluid to flow therebetween.

Dependent claims

A high-pressure connector for use with a cable and a cable accessory, the cable comprising a conductor, the cable accessory having an injection port and an interior chamber, the injection port having an opening into the interior chamber, the interior chamber being defined by one or more sidewalls, the high-pressure connector comprising:

a body portion comprising an inner fluid chamber, an outer surface, and an aperture, the inner fluid chamber being configured to allow the conductor to pass therethrough;
and
one or more fluid seals configured to be positioned between the outer surface of the body portion and the one or more sidewalls of the interior chamber of the cable accessory to define an outer fluid chamber, the outer fluid chamber being positioned such that the opening of the injection port is positioned within the outer fluid chamber so that a fluid exiting the injection port through the opening enters the outer fluid chamber, the aperture being positioned to connect the outer fluid chamber with the inner fluid chamber and allow the fluid to flow between the outer and inner fluid chambers.

A connector for use with a cable and a cable accessory, the cable comprising a conductor, the cable accessory having an injection port through which a fluid may be injected into an interior chamber, the connector comprising:

a body portion configured to be positioned inside the interior chamber of the cable accessory, the body portion having an aperture in fluid communication with an inner fluid chamber, the inner fluid chamber being configured to house a portion of the conductor;
and
first and second fluid seals positioned on the body portion with the aperture being positioned between the first and second fluid seals, the first and second fluid seals being configured to define an outer fluid chamber between the body portion and the cable accessory inside the interior chamber, the outer fluid chamber being positioned to receive the fluid injected through the injection port, the aperture being positioned to connect the outer fluid chamber with the inner fluid chamber and allow the fluid to flow between the outer and inner fluid chambers.
