Abstract
An update installer generates an update display for a user that displays available updates. The user can select updates, and the update installer accesses the business processes corresponding to the user's project and displays an impact analysis indicating the impact that the selected updates will have on the processes in the system.

A computer-implemented method comprising:
- generating a representation of a user interface display that identifies a plurality of application updates associated with a target application in a computer system and includes an update selection user input mechanism;
- prior to applying any of the application updates to the target application,
- based on an indication of user actuation of the update selection user input mechanism, selecting a first application update from the plurality of application updates;
- generating a representation of a first impact display including a first visual impact indicator that indicates a degree to which the first application update impacts the target application;
- based on an indication of user actuation of the update selection user input mechanism, selecting a second application update from the plurality of application updates;
- and
- generating a representation of a second impact display including a second visual impact indicator that indicates a degree to which the second application update impacts the target application;
- and
- applying at least one of the first or second application update to the target application in the computer system.

- a processor;
- and
- memory storing instructions executable by the processor, wherein the instructions, when executed, configure the computing system to:
- generate a representation of a user interface display with an update selection user input mechanism;
- based on an indication of user actuation of the update selection user input mechanism, select an application update associated with an application;

- generate a representation of a process impact display that includes a heat map representation that graphically represents an impact of the selected application update relative to a plurality of computing processes associated with the application, the heat map comprising a process identifier corresponding to each computing process and a color-coded element
- associated with the corresponding computing process, and
- indicative of an impact of the selected application update on the corresponding computing process.

- a processor;

- memory storing instructions executable by the processor, wherein the instructions, when executed, configure the computing system to:
- identify a plurality of application updates associated with a target application;
- and
- prior to applying any of the application updates to the target application,
- generate a representation of a user interface display that includes an impact display and an update selection user input mechanism;
- and
- based on an indication of user actuation of the update selection user input mechanism,
- identify a plurality of different sets of the application updates, each set comprising one or more of the application updates;
- and
- iteratively update the impact display to indicate, for each set, a degree to which the one or more application updates in the set impact the target application.
