Abstract
Enteral Feeding Intolerance (EFI) can be efficaciously treated by administration of therapeutically effective doses of ulimorelin every 8 hours (three times a day). Therapeutic benefit can be obtained from single and consecutive daily dosing, including for periods of up to a week or longer.
Claims41
A method of treating enteral feeding intolerance (EFI) in a patient in need of treatment, said method comprising administering to said patient a therapeutically effective dose of ulimorelin (LP101) by intravenous infusion three times daily for one or more consecutive days.
The method of any of the foregoing claims, wherein alpha 1-acid glycoprotein (AAGP) levels are determined prior to or during administration of ulimorelin.
A method of treating enteral feeding intolerance, said method comprising administering ulimorelin three times daily to a patient in need of treatment by intravenous infusion to achieve a Cmaxfree of at least 0.5 ng/mL but less than 125 ng/mL.
A method of accelerating the rate of gastric emptying or treating delayed gastric emptying in a patient, said method comprising administering by intravenous infusion ulimorelin three times daily to a patient in need of treatment.
A method of treating a patient in an unhealthy catabolic state and/or providing anabolic benefit, said method comprising administering by intravenous infusion ulimorelin three times daily to a patient in need of treatment.
A method of preventing or slowing lean body mass loss in a patient, said method comprising administering by intravenous infusion ulimorelin three times daily to a patient in need of treatment.
A method of reducing net sympathetic tone in a patient, said method comprising administering by intravenous infusion ulimorelin three times daily to a patient in need of treatment.
Use of ulimorelin to treat enteral feeding intolerance by intravenous administration at a dose in the range of 80 μg/kg patient weight/day (μg/kg/day) to 1200 μg/kg/day.
Use of ulimorelin to accelerate the rate of gastric emptying or treating delayed gastric emptying in a patient by intravenous administration at a dose in the range of 80 μg/kg patient weight/day (μg/kg/day) to 1200 μg/kg/day.
Use of ulimorelin to treat a patient in an unhealthy catabolic state and/or providing anabolic benefit by intravenous administration at a dose in the range of 80 μg/kg patient weight/day (μg/kg/day) to 1200 μg/kg/day.
Use of ulimorelin to prevent or slow lean body mass loss, or increasing lean body mass in a patient said by intravenous administration at a dose in the range of 80 μg/kg patient weight/day (μg/kg/day) to 1200 μg/kg/day.
Use of ulimorelin to reduce net sympathetic tone in a patient by intravenous administration at a dose in the range of 80 μg/kg patient weight/day (μg/kg/day) to 1200 μg/kg/day.
A formulation of ulimorelin suitable for intravenous administration to a patient suffering from enteral feeding intolerance, wherein said formulation is administered at a dose in the range of 80 μg/kg patient weight/day (μg/kg/day) to 1200 μg/kg/day.
Ulimorelin for use in the treatment of enteral feeding intolerance (EFI) in a patient in need of treatment by administering to said patient a therapeutically effective dose of ulimorelin (LP101) by intravenous infusion three times daily for one or more consecutive days.
Ulimorelin for use in the treatment of enteral feeding intolerance by administering ulimorelin three times daily to a patient in need of treatment by intravenous infusion to achieve a Cmaxfree of at least 0.5 ng/mL but less than 125 ng/mL.
Ulimorelin for use in accelerating the rate of gastric emptying or treating delayed gastric emptying in a patient, said method comprising administering by intravenous infusion ulimorelin three times daily to a patient in need of treatment.
Ulimorelin for use in treating a patient in an unhealthy catabolic state and/or providing anabolic benefit, by administering by intravenous infusion ulimorelin three times daily to a patient in need of treatment.
Ulimorelin for use in preventing or slowing lean body mass loss, or increasing lean body mass in a patient by administering by intravenous infusion ulimorelin three times daily to a patient in need of treatment.
Ulimorelin for use in reducing net sympathetic tone in a patient by administering by intravenous infusion ulimorelin three times daily to a patient in need of treatment.
Ulimorelin for use in the treatment of enteral feeding intolerance by intravenous administration at a dose in the range of 80 μg/kg patient weight/dose to 1200 μg/kg patient weight/dose.
Ulimorelin for use in accelerating the rate of gastric emptying or treating delayed gastric emptying in a patient by intravenous administration at a dose in the range of 80 μg/kg patient weight/dose to 1200 μg/kg patient weight/dose.
Ulimorelin for use in the treatment of a patient in an unhealthy catabolic state and/or providing anabolic benefit by intravenous administration at a dose in the range of 80 μg/kg patient weight/dose to 1200 μg/kg patient weight/dose.
Ulimorelin for use in the preventing or slowing lean body mass loss in a patient by intravenous administration at a dose in the range of 80 μg/kg patient weight/day to 1200 μg/kg patient weight/dose.
Ulimorelin for use in decreasing net sympathetic tone in a patient by intravenous administration at a dose in the range of 80 μg/kg patient weight/day to 1200 μg/kg patient weight/dose.
