Abstract
A treatment instrument includes a probe including a treatment portion which treats a treatment target part by ultrasonic vibration, and a back portion provided on a side opposite to the treatment portion. The treatment instrument includes a hollow sheath which surrounds the probe, the sheath having a cutout made to expose the treatment portion. The treatment instrument includes protrusion which is provided in the sheath to cover the back portion on a side opposite to the cutout and which has dimensions smaller than the dimensions of the probe in a direction that intersects with a central axis of the probe.
Claims12
A treatment instrument comprising:
- a probe comprising a treatment portion which treats a treatment target part by ultrasonic vibration, and a back portion provided on a side opposite to the treatment portion, wherein the probe constitutes one pole in a bipolar treatment;
- a hollow sheath which surrounds the probe, the sheath having a cutout made to expose the treatment portion, wherein the sheath constitutes the other pole in the bipolar treatment;
- and
- a protrusion which is provided in the sheath to cover the back portion on a side opposite to the cutout at a position of a distal end of the probe or at a state where the back portion protrudes more than the distal end,
- wherein the protrusion has dimensions smaller than the dimensions of the probe in a direction that intersects with a central axis of the probe to allow the protrusion to locate within a range of a projected figure of the probe when seen from the treatment portion of the probe.
