Abstract
The description relates to devices, such as computing devices having displays that can be rotated through a range of travel. The device can counter-balance the display to create a near weightless feel for the user when repositioning the display.
Claims30
A device, comprising:
- a display coupled to a first end of an arm;
- and,
- a base including a crankshaft coupled to a second end of the arm, the crankshaft including a crankpin that operates on a spring to counter-balance the display during rotation of the arm around the crankshaft.
A device, comprising:
- a display coupled to a first end of an arm;
- and,
- a base including a crankshaft coupled to a second end of the arm, the crankshaft including a first crankpin coupled to a first compression spring and a second crankpin coupled to a second compression spring, the first and second compression springs configured to impart forces on the crankpins to at least partially counter-balance rotational forces imparted on the crankshaft by the display.
A device, comprising:
- a display coupled to a first end of an arm;
- and,
- a base including a crankshaft coupled to a second end of the arm, the crankshaft including a first crankpin coupled to a first connecting rod that is configured to engage a first compression spring and a second crankpin coupled to a second connecting rod that is configured to engage a second compression spring, wherein angular rotation of the arm relative to the base is configured to cause the first connecting rod to engage the first compression spring and the second connecting rod to engage the second compression spring.
