Abstract
Provided are a scheduling apparatus and method for a multicast broadcast service. Scheduling information is configured with at least one of information related to a location in which each multicast broadcast service, which is identified by a unique identifier within one scheduling period, starts and information related to a location in which each multicast broadcast service ends, and a scheduling block including the configured scheduling information is generated. There is an advantage that power management of user equipment is easy, and a time delay when initially entering the MBMS and a channel change time when selecting a different MBMS are reduced.

(canceled)
A device, comprising:
- a memory and a processor operably coupled to the memory, to execute program instructions stored in the memory,
- wherein the processor, when executing the program instructions:
- directs to receive first scheduling information comprising a first identifier during a first scheduling period,
- determines that a value of the first identifier is not a first predetermined value, and
- in response to determining that the value is not the first predetermined value, directs to receive a first multicast service based on an end point of the first multicast service as indicated by the value of the first identifier during the first scheduling period.
A device, comprising:
- a memory and a processor operably coupled to the memory, to execute program instructions stored in the memory,
- wherein the processor, when executing the program instructions:
- determines whether a first multicast service is provided during a first scheduling period,
- generates first scheduling information comprising a first identifier, a value of the first identifier being one of a first predetermined value in response to determining that the first multicast service is not provided during the first scheduling period and a second value indicating an end point of the first multicast service during the first scheduling period in response to determining that the first multicast service is provided during the first scheduling period, and
- directs to transmit the first scheduling information during the first scheduling period.
