Method and device for selectively performing drs measurement or crs measurement

A user equipment (UE) for performing cell measurement selectively using a reference signal (RS), the UE comprising:

• a memory;
• a transceiver;
• and
• a processor configured to connect the memory and the transceiver,
• wherein the processor is configured to:
• control the transceiver to receive a common reference signal (CRS) measurement configuration and a discovery reference signal (DRS) measurement configuration for a measurement object frequency from a network;
• perform DRS measurement for a cell comprised in a physical cell identification (PCID) list, and perform CRS measurement for a cell not comprised in the PCID list, if the network configures the PCID list for CRS-based DRS measurement for the measurement object frequency;
• and
• perform DRS measurement for all cells belonging to the measurement object frequency, if the network does not configure the PCID list for CRS-based DRS measurement for the measurement object frequency.
