An installation process for a sensor associated with a passenger conveyance system, the process including at least partially automatically calibrating a sensor coordinate system to a world coordinate system via a calibration matrix, wherein the sensor coordinate system is at least partially obtained using a depth map.

An installation process for a 3D sensor, the process comprising:
- at least partially automatically calibrating a sensor coordinate system to a world coordinate system via a calibration matrix, wherein the world coordinate system is at least partially obtained using a depth map.
An auto-calibration system, comprising:
- a depth-sensing sensor;
- and
- a processor in communication with the depth-sensing sensor, the processor operable at least partially automatically calibrating a sensor coordinate system to a world coordinate system via a calibration matrix, wherein the world coordinate system is at least partially obtained using a depth map.
