Abstract
An image processing apparatus includes a decomposition unit configured to decompose a color image into at least two color component images, a first obtaining unit configured to obtain a skewness of a histogram corresponding to each of the color component images, and a determination unit configured to determine based on the obtained skewnesses associated with the color component images whether the color image is glossy.

An image processing apparatus comprising:
- a decomposition unit configured to decompose a color image into at least two color component images;
- a first obtaining unit configured to obtain a skewness of a histogram corresponding to each of the color component images;
- and
- a determination unit configured to determine, based on the obtained skewnesses associated with the color component images, whether the color image is glossy.
An image processing method comprising:
- decomposing a color image into at least two color component images;
- obtaining a skewness of a histogram corresponding to each of the color component images;
- and
- determining based on the obtained skewnesses associated with the color component images whether the color image is glossy.
A non-transitory computer readable storage medium storing a program for causing a computer to execute an image processing method, the image processing method comprising:
- decomposing a color image into at least two color component images;
- obtaining a skewness of a histogram corresponding to each of the color component images;
- and
- determining based the obtained skewnesses associated with the color component images whether the color image is glossy.
