Abstract
A method and an apparatus for receiving broadcast signals thereof are disclosed. The method for receiving broadcast signals, the method comprises receiving the broadcast signals, demodulating the received broadcast signals by an OFDM (Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex) scheme, parsing a signal frame from the demodulated broadcast signals, MIMO (Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output) decoding service data in the parsed signal frame, decoding signaling data in the parsed signal frame and decoding the MIMO decoded service data.

A method for receiving broadcast signals by an apparatus for receiving broadcast signals, the method comprising:
- receiving the broadcast signals;
- demodulating the received broadcast signals by an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) scheme;
- parsing a signal frame from the demodulated broadcast signals;
- decoding signaling data in the parsed signal frame;
- Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output (MIMO) decoding service data in the parsed signal frame;
- and
- decoding the MIMO decoded service data,
- wherein the service data in the parsed signal frame is MIMO processed data by MIMO processing,
- wherein the MIMO processing includes stream combining, in-phase/quadrature-phase (IQ) polarization interleaving and phase hopping, and
- wherein the signaling data includes phase hopping information indicating whether the phase hopping is applied to the MIMO processing and IQ polarization interleaving information indicating whether the IQ polarization interleaving is applied to the MIMO processing.
An apparatus for receiving broadcast signals, the apparatus comprising:
- a receiver to receive the broadcast signals;
- a demodulator to demodulate the received broadcast signals by an Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplex (OFDM) scheme;
- a frame parser to parse a signal frame from the demodulated broadcast signals;
- a Multiple-Input and Multiple-Output MIMO decoder to decode service data in the parsed signal frame;
- a first decoder to decode signaling data in the parsed signal frame;
- and
- a second decoder to decode the MIMO decoded service data,
- wherein the service data in the parsed signal frame is MIMO processed data by MIMO processing,
- wherein the MIMO processing includes stream combining, in-phase/quadrature-phase (IQ) polarization interleaving and phase hopping, and
- wherein the signaling data includes phase hopping information indicating whether the phase hopping is applied to the MIMO processing and IQ polarization interleaving information indicating whether the IQ polarization interleaving is applied to the MIMO processing.
