Abstract
Example implementations relate to construction of a network service chain. For example, a system for construction of a network service chain can include a detection engine to detect a portion of a first network policy directing a subset of packets to a first service and a portion of a second network policy directing the subset of packets to a second service, and a construction engine to construct a network service chain of the first service and the second service in an order determined from a priority assigned to the first network policy and a priority assigned to the second network policy.
Claims15
A system, comprising:
- a detection engine to detect a portion of a first network policy directing a subset of packets to a first service and a portion of a second network policy directing the subset of packets to a second service;
- and
- a construction engine to construct a network service chain of the first service and the second service in an order determined from a priority assigned to the first network policy and a priority assigned to the second network policy.
A non-transitory computer readable medium storing instructions executable by a processing resource to cause a computer to:
- detect overlapping applicability among a plurality of network policies directing network traffic to corresponding network services;
- and
- construct a network service chain of each of the network services corresponding to each of the overlapping plurality of network policies, wherein each of the network services receives an order based on a priority ranking assigned to the corresponding overlapping network policy.
A method, comprising:
- detecting a plurality of active network policies with overlapping applicability, wherein each of the plurality of active network policies directs a portion of network traffic to a designated service of a plurality of services;
- constructing a network service chain for the portion of network traffic including a chain of the designated services of each of the plurality of active network policies ordered according to a priority assigned to each of the plurality of active network policies;
- detecting a modification to at least one of the designated services;
- and
- performing a pre-determined action in response to the detection of the modification.
