Method and device for notifying reference signal configuration information

A base station, comprising a transceiver, and a processor coupled with the transceiver, wherein

• the processor is configured to determine channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS) configuration codes, and
• the transceiver is configured to send the CSI-RS configuration codes to a terminal device,
• wherein the CSI-RS configuration codes comprise a first code and a second code,
• wherein the first code is determined based on a quantity of antenna ports of the base station for transmitting a channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS), a CSI-RS pattern, and a relationship between the quantity of antenna ports of the base station, the CSI-RS pattern, and the first code, and
• wherein the second code is determined based on a CSI-RS period, a sub-frame offset, and a relationship between the CSI-RS period, the sub-frame offset, and a second code.

An apparatus, comprising a processor coupled with a non-transitory storage medium storing executable instructions, wherein the executable instructions, when executed by the processor, cause the processor to:

• determine channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS) configuration codes, and
• output the CSI-RS configuration codes for transmission;
• wherein the CSI-RS configuration codes comprise a first code and a second code,
• wherein the first code is determined based on a quantity of antenna ports of the base station for transmitting a channel state information-reference signal (CSI-RS), a CSI-RS pattern, and a relationship between the quantity of antenna ports of the base station, and
• wherein the CSI-RS pattern, and the first code, and the second code is determined based on a CSI-RS period, a sub-frame offset, and a relationship between the CSI-RS period, the sub-frame offset, and a second code.
