Abstract
A stile and rail ballistic security door containing bullet proof materials within a metal or synthetic material frame including a plurality of window panes and thermal break means to eliminate condensation problems therein. The door contains a multi-layer exterior core providing extra strength and rigidity.
Claims3
A bullet resistant security door, comprising:
- a multiple layer assembly comprising at least one wood layer, at least one steel layer, and a plurality of light/vision transmitting panes set in frame surrounding a head, a jamb, and a threshold frame secured to adjacent building;
- an assembly comprising a multi-layer exterior wood core;
- an interior structural plate assembly selected from materials consisting of a steel, a stainless steel, a copper, a bronze, an aluminum, a titanium, a graphite polymer, a graphene polymer, a high density polyethylene polymers, a polycarbonate, a carbon fiber, and combinations thereof;
- an exterior structural plate assembly selected from materials consisting of a steel, a stainless steel, a copper, a bronze, an aluminum, a titanium, a graphite polymer, a graphene polymer, a high density polyethylene polymers, a polycarbonate, a carbon fiber, and combinations thereof;
- a structural divider light/vision pane divided grid composed of a selected material;
- a bullet resistant transparent or translucent light/visual transmitting panes comprising a multi-layer glass layer, a polycarbonate layer, a synthetic translucent material layer, and combinations thereof;
- a multi-layer interior wood core;
- said security door assembly comprising a pair of horizontal rails, a pair of vertical stiles, at least one chemically and mechanically bonded wood and steel layer, said pair of horizontal rails and said pair of vertical stiles connecting at respective corners forming a door panel including multiple divided gridded frame;
- and a plurality of light/vision panes disposed within said gridded frame.
