Abstract
An air compressor assembly may include a support structure, an operating unit including a compressor operatively connected to a motor through at least one drive belt, and at least one vibration isolator that is positioned between at least a portion of the support structure and at least a portion of the operating unit. The vibration isolator(s) is configured to dampen vibratory energy generated by the operating unit.
Claims14
An air compressor assembly comprising:
- a support structure;
- an operating unit including a compressor, electric motor, mounting plate, hinge plate, and drive belt, the compressor operatively connected to the electric motor through a least one drive belt, the compressor positioned above the support structure and the electric drive motor positioned internal to the support structure;
- the electric motor supported and positioned below the compressor by the hinge plate connected to the mounting plate by a hinge pin and the drive belt, the weight of the electric motor applying tension to the drive belt;
- and
- at least one vibration isolator that is positioned between the top surface of the support structure and the operating unit, the at least one vibration isolator being configured to dampen vibratory energy generated by the operating unit.
