Abstract
In certain aspects, the present disclosure relates to the insight that a polypeptide comprising a ligand-binding portion of the extracellular domain of bone morphogenetic protein receptor type II (BMPRII) polypeptide binds to ligands including BMP10, BMP15, activin B and BMP9 and may be used to treat fibrotic and angiogenic disorders.

A method of treating or preventing a fibrotic disorder in a patient in need thereof, the method comprising administering to the patient an effective amount of a BMPRII polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence at least 90%, 91%, 92%, 93%, 94%, 95%, 96%, 97%, 98%, 99% or 100% identical to an amino acid sequence starting at any of amino acids 1-8 of SEQ ID NO:2 and ending at any of amino acids 97-124 of SEQ ID NO:2.
A method of treating or preventing a disorder associated with dysregulated angiogenesis in a patient in need thereof, the method comprising administering to the patient an effective amount of a BMPRII polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence at least 90%, 91%, 92%, 93%, 94%, 95%, 96%, 97%, 98%, 99% or 100% identical to an amino acid sequence starting at any of amino acids 1-8 of SEQ ID NO:2 and ending at any of amino acids 97-124 of SEQ ID NO:2.
A method of treating or preventing a disorder associated with BMP15 in a patient in need thereof, the method comprising administering to the patient an effective amount of a BMPRII polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence at least 90%, 91%, 92%, 93%, 94%, 95%, 96%, 97%, 98%, 99% or 100% identical to an amino acid sequence starting at any of amino acids 1-8 of SEQ ID NO:2 and ending at any of amino acids 97-124 of SEQ ID NO:2.
A BMPRII protein comprising a polypeptide comprising an amino acid sequence that is at least at least 90%, 91%, 92%, 93%, 94%, 95%, 96%, 97%, 98%, 99% or 100% identical to an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 16.
A BMPRII protein comprising a homodimer of two polypeptides each comprising a sequence that is at least 90%, 91%, 92%, 93%, 94%, 95%, 96%, 97%, 98%, 99% or 100% identical to an amino acid sequence of SEQ ID NO:
- 16.
