Abstract
A light strip for a vehicle panel is provided herein. The light strip includes a light-producing assembly. A photoluminescent structure is disposed on the light-producing assembly and is configured to luminesce in response to excitation by a light source of the light-producing assembly. An adhesive layer having one or more retroreflective beads embedded therein is disposed on the photoluminescent structure. An overmold material is disposed over a portion of the retroreflective beads.
Claims20
A vehicle, comprising:
- a panel having a light-producing assembly comprising a plurality of light sources arranged as a strip attached to a portion of the panel;
- a photoluminescent structure disposed on the light-producing assembly and configured to luminesce in response to excitation by the plurality of light sources;
- and
- one or more retroreflective beads configured to reflect an incident light directed towards the light-producing assembly.
A light strip for a vehicle panel, comprising:
- a light-producing assembly;
- a photoluminescent structure disposed on the light-producing assembly and configured to luminesce in response to excitation by a light source of the light-producing assembly;
- an adhesive layer having one or more retroreflective beads embedded therein and disposed on the photoluminescent structure;
- and
- an overmold material disposed over a portion of the retroreflective beads.
A light strip for a vehicle, comprising:
- a light source;
- a photoluminescent structure disposed on the light source and configured to luminesce in response to excitation by the light source;
- and
- a translucent reflective layer configured to reflect an incident light directed at a first side of the reflective layer and to allow a converted light directed at a second, opposing side of the reflective layer to pass therethrough.
