## Abstract

A water treatment device is provided to remove static or stray electricity from water. The device includes a pipe though which the water flows, with an electrical coil within the pipe. The coil captures or collects the electricity and transmits electricity to ground via a ground wire.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A device for removing static electricity from water comprising:
a pipe through which water flows;
an electrical energy collector in the pipe;
a grounding wire extending from the electrical energy collector to an earth ground so as to transfer electricity from the water to the earth.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1 wherein the electrical energy collector includes a steel core.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The device of claim 2 wherein the steel core has a coating to inhibit rust.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The device of claim 3 wherein the coating is copper.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1 wherein the electrical energy collector extends longitudinally within the pipe.

### Claim 6 (depends on 2)

The device of claim 2 wherein the electrical energy collector includes an electrical wire wrapped around the steel core.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The device of claim 6 wherein the coil is coated with metal.

### Claim 8 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1 wherein the pipe is PVC.

### Claim 9 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1 wherein the pipe is plastic.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The device of claim 1 wherein the electrical energy collector removes up to at least 400 millivolts of electricity from the water.

### Claim 11

A method of removing static electricity from water, comprising:
passing water through a pipe;
collecting electricity from water in the pipe; and
transferring the collected electricity to an earth ground.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The method of claim 11 wherein the collection of electricity is accomplished using an electrical coil.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The method of claim 12 wherein the transfer of collected electricity is accomplished via a grounding wire connected to the coil.

### Claim 14 (depends on 11)

The method of claim 11 further comprising collecting 10-400 millivolts of electricity from the water.

### Claim 15 (depends on 11)

The method of claim 11 wherein the electricity is removed passively and continuously from the water.

### Claim 16

A water treatment device, comprising:
a pipe through which water passes;
an electrical coil in the pipe to collect stray electrical voltage;
a ground wire connected to the coil and extending to a remote location;
whereby stray electrical voltage is collected by the coil and removed from the water via the ground wire.

### Claim 17 (depends on 16)

The water treatment device of claim 16 wherein the coil comprises a steel core wrapped with electrical wire.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The water treatment device of claim 17 wherein the steel core is coated to inhibit rusting.

### Claim 19 (depends on 15)

The water treatment device of claim 15 wherein the coil removes stray electrical voltage passively and continuously from the water.

### Claim 20 (depends on 15)

The water treatment device of claim 15 wherein the pipe is plastic.
