## Abstract

There is provided a method for gathering traffic analytics data about a communication network that analyzes specific attributes of communications relationships between system assets of a network.

## Claims

### Claim at position 1

1-13. (canceled)

### Claim 14

A method comprising,
monitoring communications among networked resources of a networked environment, wherein the networked resources includes a plurality of hardware assets and a plurality of applications;
using information of the monitored communications to assign the plurality of hardware assets and the plurality of applications to geographic locations;
the monitoring communications among the networked resources including tagging communications among the networked resources, wherein the tagging includes identifying originating network resources of the tagged communications and target network resources of the tagged communications, wherein networked resources include the originating network resources and the target network resources;
using the tagged communications to identify utilization of the networked resources at one or more locations of the geographic locations.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

The method of claim 14, the assigning the plurality of hardware assets and the plurality of applications to geographic locations including assigning a first collection of hardware assets and applications to a first location of the geographic locations.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The method of claim 15, the assigning the plurality of hardware assets and the plurality of applications to geographic locations including assigning a second collection of hardware assets and applications to a second location of the geographic locations, wherein the first location is different than the second location.

### Claim 17 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, the monitoring communications among the networked resources including gathering information of communications among the networked resources using one or more network information sources.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, the one or more network information sources comprising a Common Data Dictionary.

### Claim 19 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, the one or more network information sources comprising a Low Level Direct Drive.

### Claim 20 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, the one or more network information sources comprising software-defined networking databases.

### Claim 21 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, the one or more network information sources comprising spanning trees.

### Claim 22 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, the one or more network information sources comprising routing neighbors.

### Claim 23 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, the one or more network information sources comprising MAC tables.

### Claim 24 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, the one or more network information sources comprising VPN configurations.

### Claim 25 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, the one or more network information sources comprising Logical Unit Numbers.

### Claim 26 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, the one or more network information sources comprising fiber cable (FC) topologies.

### Claim 27 (depends on 17)

The method of claim 17, the one or more network information sources comprising unified switch configurations.

### Claim 28 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the identifying utilization of the networked resources comprises identifying utilization of at least one application of the plurality of applications.

### Claim 29 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the identifying utilization of the networked resources comprises identifying client applications of the plurality of application utilizing the at least one application of the plurality of applications.

### Claim 30 (depends on 1)

The method of claim 1, wherein the identifying utilization of the networked resources comprises recommending migration of a portion of the networked resources to a cloud computing platform.
