## Abstract

A system and method for tracking callback functions for error identification is provided. Prior to a function calling a callback function, it records information relating to the back trace of function(s) that called the callback in a set of state information. In the event of an error condition, the state information may be examined to provide additional information for debugging purposes.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A computer implemented method comprising:
executing, on a processor, a first function, the first function configured to store a set of state information relating to a callback function;
calling, by the first function, the callback function;
storing the state information in memory of a mobile device executing the first function; and
transferring the state information to an analytic processing server.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The computer implemented method of claim 1 wherein the state information comprises an address of the callback function

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The computer implemented method of claim 1 wherein the state information comprises an identifier of the callback function.

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The computer implemented method of claim 1 wherein the state information comprises a set of back trace information associated with the callback function.

### Claim 5 (depends on 4)

The computer implemented method of claim 4 wherein the back trace information comprises of a list of functions.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The computer implemented method of claim 1 further comprising analyzing the transmitted state information on the analytic processing server to determine a cause of an error condition.

### Claim 7

A non-transitory computer readable medium comprising instructions, the instructions, when executed by at least one processor, comprising functionality to:
execute a first function, the first function configured to store a set of state information relating to a callback function;
call, by the first function, the callback function;
store the state information in memory of a mobile device executing the first function; and
transmit the stored state information from the mobile device to an analytic processing server for later analysis of a cause of an error condition.

### Claim 8

A system comprising:
a processor operatively interconnected with a memory, the processor configured to execute an application, the application comprising a first function that is configured to call a callback function;
wherein the first function is further configured to store a set of state information relating to the callback function in the memory; and
wherein the first function further comprises an analytic library module configured to transmit the stored set of state information to an analytic processing server for later analysis as to a cause of an error condition.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The system of claim 8 wherein the state information comprises an address of the callback function.

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

The system of claim 8 wherein the state information comprises an identifier of the callback function.

### Claim 11 (depends on 8)

The system of claim 8 wherein the state information comprises a list of a plurality of functions.

### Claim 12 (depends on 8)

The system of claim 8 wherein the analytic library module is further configured to transmit the stored set of state information in response to detecting a wireless network connection.

### Claim 13 (depends on 8)

The system of claim 8 wherein the stored set of state information comprises only an identifier of the first function.
