## Abstract

In various embodiments, a carry (or carrying) bag is provided that includes an interior, substantially cut-resistant security panel assembly with a matrix of wires secured between or on one or more flexible material layers. Also in various embodiments, the security panel assembly may be positioned intermediate the bag outside wall and a lining of the bag, and in other embodiments, may also take the form of an expansion panel. Second or secondary locking fasteners are also provided to lock first or primary fasteners to or within the carrying bag, to provide security for compartments and pockets. A strap with one or more security cables, and various locking fasteners, may be attached to the carry bag. Methods for forming such security panel assemblies, expansion panels, and carrying straps are also disclosed.

## Claims

### Claim 1

a first wire cable;
a second wire cable; and
a first flexible material having its length substantially greater than its width, the first flexible material having a first side and a second side, the first flexible material having a first lateral edge and a second lateral edge along its length, having first and second lateral regions along its length, and having a central region along its length in between the first and second lateral regions, the first lateral region folded around the first wire cable to enclose the first wire cable on the first side of the first flexible material, and the second lateral region folded around the second wire cable to enclose the second wire cable on the first side of the first flexible material.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The carry strap of claim 1, wherein the central region has a first thickness and the first and second lateral regions have a second thickness, the first thickness greater than the second thickness.

### Claim 3 (depends on 1)

The carry strap of claim 1, wherein the central region has a first side with a first side edge and a second side with a second side edge, and wherein the first lateral edge abuts the first side edge of the central region, and wherein the second lateral edge abuts the second side edge of the central region

### Claim 4 (depends on 1)

The carry strap of claim 1, wherein the central region and the first and second lateral regions have the same thickness.

### Claim 5 (depends on 1)

The carry strap of claim 1, wherein the first lateral edge abuts the second lateral edge along the central region.

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The carry strap of claim 1, further comprising:
at least one second flexible material coupled to the first flexible material.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The carry strap of claim 6, wherein the at least one second flexible material is coupled over the folded first and second lateral regions on the first side of the first flexible material.

### Claim 8 (depends on 6)

The carry strap of claim 6, wherein the at least one second flexible material is coupled between the first and second wire cables on the first side of the first flexible material.

### Claim 9 (depends on 6)

The carry strap of claim 6, wherein the at least one second flexible material is folded longitudinally.

### Claim 10 (depends on 1)

The carry strap of claim 1, further comprising:
at least one second flexible material having its length substantially greater than its width, the at least one second flexible material folded along first and second lateral edges and coupled to the first side of the first flexible material.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

The carry strap of claim 1, wherein an end of the first wire cable is crimped to an end of the second wire cable.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The carry strap of claim 11, wherein a first end of the carry strap is folded around a buckle, attachment ring or fitting and attached to a nonadjacent part of the carry strap.

### Claim 13 (depends on 1)

The carry strap of claim 1, wherein the first flexible material comprises at least one material selected from the group consisting of: a woven fabric; a woven ballistic nylon fabric; leather; a nonwoven material; a woven fabric or webbing material having finished lateral edges; and combinations thereof.

### Claim 14

A substantially cut-resistant carry strap for a carrying bag, the carry strap comprising:
a first flexible material having its length substantially greater than its width, the first flexible material having a first side and a second side, the first flexible material having a first and second lateral edges and first and second lateral regions along its length, and having a central region along its length in between the first and second lateral regions;
a first wire cable arranged along the first lateral region on the first side of the first flexible material;
a second wire cable arranged along the second lateral region on the first side of the first flexible material; and
a separate second flexible material having its length substantially greater than its width, the second flexible material having a first and second lateral edges and first and second lateral regions along its length, and having a central region along its length in between the first and second lateral regions, the second flexible material coupled over the first and second wire cables and to the first side of the first flexible material.

### Claim 15 (depends on 14)

The carry strap of claim 14, wherein the coupling of the second flexible material to the first flexible material comprises:
a first stitching spaced apart from the first lateral edges of the first and second flexible materials and lateral to the first wire cable;
a second stitching along a first part of the central regions of the first and second flexible materials and in between the first and second wire cables;
a third stitching along a second part of the central regions of the first and second flexible materials and in between the first and second wire cables; and
a fourth stitching spaced apart from the second lateral edges of the first and second flexible materials and lateral to the second wire cable.

### Claim 16 (depends on 14)

The carry strap of claim 14, wherein the central region of the first flexible material has a first thickness and the first and second lateral regions of the first flexible material have a second thickness, the first thickness greater than the second thickness.
