Abstract
A tabletop horseshoe game for playing a horseshoes style game on a self contained game board includes a game board base having a substantially planar playing surface, a proximal end, and a distal end, a horseshoe projecting mechanism adjacent to the proximal end, and a fixed stake across the playing surface towards the distal end. The horseshoe projecting mechanism, which in one embodiment defines a pendulum style projecting member and an elevated launching pad is operative to be swung toward a mini horseshoe positioned on the launching pad so that it contacts the mini horseshoe and launches it towards the stake at a desired velocity and angle so that it may encircle the stake or otherwise be moved to a position close to the stake.
Claims10
A tabletop horseshoe game, comprising:
- a game board base having a substantially planar playing surface, a proximal end, and a distal end, wherein the proximal end is T-shaped and said proximal end adjoins to a square distal end at a first side of the square distal end;
- a fixed stake integral with said game board base, extending up from the playing surface;
- a retainer wall surrounding the remaining three sides of the square distal end, where the retainer wall maintains a consistent height on all three sides;
- a horseshoe projecting mechanism adjacent to the proximal end, wherein said fixed stake is positioned between said horseshoe projecting mechanism and said distal end;
- wherein said horseshoe projecting mechanism is adapted to selectively cause a mini horseshoe element to be projected toward the fixed stake from a position adjacent to the proximal end, and said horseshoe projecting mechanism defines launching pad fixed to said playing surface and a swinging projecting member integral with said game board base;
- and
- said swinging projecting member is adapted to be swung over the launching pad so as to forcibly contact any mini horseshoe element positioned on the launching pad, thereby projecting the contacted mini horseshoe element, wherein said swinging projecting member includes an “L” shaped pole having a weighted ball suspended therefrom so as to form a pendulum.
