## Abstract

A bin wall cleaner for a sweep conveyors and augers for removing residual grain located near the bin wall out of reach of the sweep conveyor and providing sweep coverage for non-uniform bin walls. The bin wall cleaner has a grain engagement member that extends outwardly from the distal end of the sweep. A biasing member maintains the grain engagement member extended toward the bin wall. A wall engagement member is attached to the grain engagement member to ensure the bin wall cleaner tracks with the bin wall. The grain engagement member extends by pivoting or telescoping at least one blade.

## Claims

### Claim 1

A bin wall cleaner attachment for a sweep conveyor, the bin wall cleaner attachment comprising
a. A mounting bracket configured to mount on the distal end of a sweep conveyor,
b. A grain engagement member has a proximal end pivotally attached to the mounting bracket, and the grain engagement member has a distal end;
c. A biasing member attached to the grain engagement member.

### Claim 2 (depends on 1)

The bin wall cleaner attachment of claim 1, wherein the grain engagement member further comprises a blade portion configured to direct residual grain located at the periphery of a grain bin toward the sweep conveyor as the sweep conveyor rotates about a central pivot point of the grain bin.

### Claim 3 (depends on 2)

The bin wall cleaner attachment of claim 2, wherein the grain engagement member further comprises at least two blade portions.

### Claim 4 (depends on 3)

The bin wall cleaner attachment of claim 3, wherein the at least two blade portions are secured together with a fastener

### Claim 5 (depends on 3)

The bin wall cleaner attachment of claim 3, wherein the length of the grain engagement member is adjustable

### Claim 6 (depends on 1)

The bin wall cleaner attachment of claim 1, further comprising:
a. A wall engagement member attached to the grain engagement member.

### Claim 7 (depends on 6)

The bin wall cleaner attachment of claim 6, wherein the biasing member is configured to maintain contact between the wall engagement member and an interior surface of a bin wall.

### Claim 8 (depends on 7)

The bin wall cleaner attachment of claim 7, wherein the wall engagement member is a wheel having a radius, the wheel is rotatably mounted about a vertical axis.

### Claim 9 (depends on 8)

The bin wall cleaner attachment of claim 8, wherein the wheel is mounted to the grain engagement member at a distance from the distal end of the grain engagement member of about one-half of the radius of the wheel.

### Claim 10 (depends on 8)

The bin wall cleaner attachment of claim 8, wherein the distal end of the grain engagement member is configured to extend toward the interior surface of the bin wall when the wheel engages the interior surface of the bin wall.

### Claim 11 (depends on 1)

A sweep conveyor for use within a cylindrical bin, the sweep conveyor comprising:
a. The bin wall cleaner attachment of claim 1 mounted to a distal longitudinal end of the sweep conveyor.

### Claim 12 (depends on 11)

The sweep conveyor of claim 11, wherein the biasing member is attached to the distal end of the sweep conveyor.

### Claim 13 (depends on 12)

The sweep conveyor of claim 12, further comprising:
a. An open distal conveyor end whereby grain may enter through the open distal conveyor end.

### Claim 14 (depends on 13)

The sweep conveyor of claim 13, further comprising:
a. An auger mechanism for transporting seed through the sweep conveyor.

### Claim 15

A bin wall cleaner attachment for directing residual grain from the periphery of the grain bin into the path of a pivoting sweep conveyor, the bin wall cleaner attachment comprising
a. A grain engagement member configured to be mounted to a distal end of a pivoting sweep conveyor at an angle less than 90° from the distal end of the pivoting sweep conveyor, the grain engagement member further comprising
i. An extendable blade portion;
b. A wall engagement member attached to the grain engagement member,
c. A biasing member configured to extend the extendable blade portion of the grain engagement member away from the distal end of the pivoting sweep conveyor until the wall engagement member is maintained in contact with the interior surface of the bin wall.

### Claim 16 (depends on 15)

The bin wall cleaner attachment of claim 15, wherein the wall engagement member is a wheel rotatably mounted to the grain engagement member, wherein the wheel rotates about a vertical axis.

### Claim 17 (depends on 15)

The bin wall cleaner attachment of claim 15, wherein the distal end of the grain engagement member is configured to extend toward the interior surface of the bin wall with the wheel touching the interior surface of the bin wall.

### Claim 18 (depends on 17)

The bin wall cleaner attachment of claim 17, wherein the extendable blade portion telescopes to extend and retract.

### Claim 19 (depends on 17)

The bin wall cleaner attachment of claim 17, wherein the extendable blade portion pivots relative to the end of the pivoting sweep conveyor to extend and retract.

### Claim 20 (depends on 15)

A sweep conveyor comprising:
a. A distal end;
b. The bin wall cleaner attachment of claim 15, wherein:
i. the grain engagement member is mounted to the distal end of the sweep conveyor at an angle less than 90°; and
ii. the biasing member further comprises a first end and a second end, wherein the first end is secured to the sweep conveyor and the second end is secured to the grain engagement member.
