Abstract
Interference detection and mitigation using maximal ratio combining in the correlation domain. Systems and methods for interference detection and mitigation using maximal ratio combining in the correlation domain may receive a plurality of copies of a positioning signal, compute a plurality of correlation functions using the received positioning signals; weight the plurality of correlation functions using a plurality of weights that are proportional to the quality of the plurality of correlation functions, and generate a combined correlation function by combining the weighted correlation functions.
Claims15
A method for interference detection and mitigation, the method comprising:
- receiving, at a receiver, a plurality of positioning signals over a time period;
- generating a plurality of correlation functions by computing a correlation function for each of at least two of the received positioning signals;
- coherently combining the plurality of correlation functions;
- and
- estimating a time-of-arrival (TOA) of the received positioning signals using the coherently combined correlation function.
A system for interference detection and mitigation, the system comprising:
- an antenna module;
- an RF frontend module;
- a digital frontend module;
- a correlation module;
- a weight determination module;
- a correlation weighting module;
- a correlation combination module;
- a time-of-arrival (TOA) estimation module;
- and
- a position determination module,
- wherein the antenna module is coupled to the RF frontend module,
- wherein the RF frontend module is coupled to the correlation module,
- wherein the correlation module is coupled to the weight determination module,
- wherein the weight determination module is coupled to the correlation weighting module,
- wherein the correlation weighting module is coupled to the correlation combination module,
- wherein the correlation combination module is coupled to the TOA estimation module;
- and
- wherein the TOA estimation module is coupled to the position determination module.
