An electrolyte for a lithium battery, the electrolyte comprising a compound represented by Formula 1 below:
- wherein, in Formula 1,
- n is 0 or 1,
- when n=0, R2 is a substituted or unsubstituted C2-C10 alkenyl group and R1 is a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C5 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C6-C10 aryl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted C3-C20 heteroaryl group;
- and
- when n=1, R1 to R4 are each independently a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C5 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C6-C10 aryl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted C3-C20 heteroaryl group.

A lithium battery, comprising:
- a cathode;
- an anode;
- and
- at least one selected from an electrolyte comprising a compound represented by Formula 1 below and a reaction product thereof:
- wherein, in Formula 1,
- n is 0 or 1,
- when n=0, R2 is a substituted or unsubstituted C2-C10 alkenyl group and R1 is a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C5 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C6-C10 aryl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted C3-C20 heteroaryl group;
- and
- when n=11, each of R1 to R4 is independently a substituted or unsubstituted C1-C5 alkyl group, a substituted or unsubstituted C6-C10 aryl group, or a substituted or unsubstituted C3-C20 heteroaryl group.
