Abstract
An image processing device for simulating depth of field in a captured image, the image processing device comprising: a camera sensor configured to capture an image; an orientation sensor configured to determine an orientation of the device from which the direction of capture of the image by the camera sensor is derivable; and a processor configured to apply blur to a first area of the captured image in dependence on the orientation of the device.
Claims21
An image processing device for simulating depth of field in a captured image, the image processing device comprising:
- a camera sensor configured to capture an image;
- an orientation sensor configured to determine, relative to a predefined axis, an orientation of the device from which a direction of capture of the image by the camera sensor is derivable;
- and
- a processor configured to apply blur to a first area of the captured image in dependence on the orientation of the device;
- wherein the predefined axis is a direction of acceleration due to gravity.

A method of simulating depth of field in an image captured at an image processing device, the method comprising:
- capturing an image;
- determining, relative to a predefined axis, an orientation of the device so as to derive a direction of capture of the image;
- and
- applying blur to a first area of the captured image in dependence on the orientation of the device;
- wherein the predefined axis is a direction of acceleration due to gravity.
