Abstract
Methods, systems, and apparatus, including computer programs encoded on computer storage media, for the generation and use of a fast battery model. One of the methods includes obtaining temperature data for one or more locations within or on the surface of a battery, the temperature data comprising time-varying heat flow inputs applied to the battery and time-varying temperature signals generated by the battery. The method also includes processing the temperature data to generate a continuous-time thermal model having one or more time-delay elements and one or more parameters, wherein parameter values are fitted using the temperature data.
Claims19
A method for processing temperature data by a data processing system to model thermal behavior of a battery, the method comprising:
- obtaining temperature data for one or more locations within or on the surface of a battery, the temperature data comprising time-varying heat flow inputs applied to the battery and time-varying temperature signals generated by the battery;
- and
- processing the temperature data to generate a continuous-time thermal model having one or more time-delay elements and one or more parameters, wherein parameter values are fitted using the temperature data.
A system for processing temperature data by a data processing system to model thermal behavior of a battery, the system comprising:
- a processor and a memory being configured to:
- obtain temperature data for one or more locations within or on the surface of a battery, the temperature data comprising time-varying heat flow inputs applied to the battery and time-varying temperature signals generated by the battery;
- and
- process the temperature data to generate a continuous-time thermal model having one or more time-delay elements and one or more parameters, wherein parameter values are fitted using the temperature data.
A non-transitory computer-readable data storage medium for processing temperature data by a data processing system to model thermal behavior of a battery, the medium storing computer-executable instructions that, when executed, to cause a computer to perform actions comprising:
- obtaining temperature data for one or more locations within or on the surface of a battery, the temperature data comprising time-varying heat flow inputs applied to the battery and time-varying temperature signals generated by the battery;
- and
- processing the temperature data to generate a continuous-time thermal model having one or more time-delay elements and one or more parameters, wherein parameter values are fitted using the temperature data.
