Abstract
According to an embodiment, provided is a communication device that performs communications of an image and audio. The communication device includes: a storage unit that stores therein arrangement information for specifying a display scheme for the image; an arrangement-information setting unit that sets arrangement information in the storage unit; and a display control unit that refers to the arrangement information and causes a plurality of display devices to display the image. The display control unit causes a first display device to display captured images of a local point and a remote point and causes a second display device to display an image supplied from an image supply device of the local point or the remote point.

A communication device, comprising:
- an interface configured to connect to an image capturing device, a first display device, and a second display device,
- a transmitting and receiving unit, implemented by a processor, configured to transmit data of a first captured image captured by the image capturing device connected to the interface to an other device, receive data of a second captured image transmitted from the other device, and receive data of a reference image transmitted from the other device,
- an operation receiving unit, implemented by the processor, configured to receive an operation for selecting a display scheme from a plurality of display schemes for displaying the first captured image, the second captured image, and the reference image, and
- a display control unit, implemented by the processor, configured to display, based on the selected display scheme, at least one of the first captured image, the second captured image, and the reference image on both of the first display device and the second display, when the first display device and the second display device are connected to the interface, or on either the first display device or the second display device when one of the first display device and the second display device is connected to the interface.
A method, comprising:
- transmitting data of a first captured image from a communication device to an other device, the first captured image captured by an image capturing device connected to an interface mounted on the communication device,
- receiving, by the communication device, data of a second captured image transmitted from the other device,
- receiving, by the communication device, data of a reference image transmitted from the other device,
- selecting, by using the communication device, a display scheme from a plurality of display schemes for displaying the first captured image, the second captured image, and the reference image, and
- displaying, based on the selected display scheme, at least one of the first captured image, the second captured image, and the reference image on both of the first display device and the second display device that are connected to the interface or on either the first display device or the second display device that is connected to the interface.
A non-transitory computer-readable recording medium including a program, wherein the program, when executed by a computer that controls a communication device, causes the computer to execute:
- transmitting data of a first captured image from the communication device to an other device, the first captured image captured by an image capturing device connected to an interface mounted on the communication device,
- receiving, by the communication device, data of a second captured image transmitted from the other device,
- receiving, by the communication device, data of a reference image transmitted from the other device,
- selecting, by using the communication device, a display scheme from a plurality of display schemes for displaying the first captured image, the second captured image, and the reference image, and
- displaying, based on the selected display scheme, at least one of the first captured image, the second captured image, and the reference image on both of the first display device and the second display device that are connected to the interface or on either the first display device or the second display device that is connected to the interface.
