Abstract
Methods, systems and devices are provided for motion-activated display of messages on an activity monitoring device. In one embodiment, method for presenting a message on an activity monitoring device is provided, including the following method operations: storing a plurality of messages to the device; detecting a stationary state of the device; detecting a movement of the device from the stationary state; in response to detecting the movement from the stationary state, selecting one of a plurality of messages, and displaying the selected message on the device.
Claims20
A wearable device, comprising:
- one or more sensors configured to generate sensor data;
- a memory configured to store a plurality of messages;
- a display configured to display the plurality of messages;
- and
- one or more processors in communication with the memory and configured to:
- determine, based on sensor data generated during a first time period, that the wearable device has been inactive for at least a threshold amount of time;
- subsequent to the determination that the wearable device has been inactive for at least the threshold amount of time, determine, based on sensor data generated during a second time period subsequent to the first time period, that the wearable device is no longer inactive;
- and
- based on the determination that the wearable device is no longer inactive, select, based on information available to the one or more processors, a message from the plurality of messages stored in the memory and cause the selected message to be displayed on the display.
A method for presenting a message on a wearable device, comprising:
- determining, based on sensor data generated during a first time period, that the wearable device has been inactive for at least a threshold amount of time;
- subsequent to determining that the wearable device has been inactive for at least the threshold amount of time, determining, based on sensor data generated during a second time period subsequent to the first time period, that the wearable device is no longer inactive;
- based on determining that the wearable device is no longer inactive, selecting, based on one or more selection factors, a message from a plurality of messages stored in a memory of the wearable device;
- and
- displaying the selected message on a display of the wearable device.
