Abstract
A storage device includes a nonvolatile storage, a volatile memory, a nonvolatile memory that is accessible faster than the nonvolatile storage, and a controller circuit. The controller circuit is configured to select one or more types of updated management information that is stored in the volatile memory and not yet saved in the nonvolatile storage, based on a recovery time associated with each type of updated management information, and in response to interruption of power supply to the storage device from an external power source, carry out data saving of said selected types of updated management information to the nonvolatile memory.

A storage device, comprising:
- a nonvolatile storage;
- a volatile memory;
- a nonvolatile memory that is accessible faster than the nonvolatile storage;
- and
- a controller circuit configured to
- select one or more types of updated management information that is stored in the volatile memory and not yet saved in the nonvolatile storage, based on a recovery time associated with each type of updated management information, and
- in response to interruption of power supply to the storage device from an external power source, carry out data saving of said selected types of updated management information to the nonvolatile memory.
A method for operating a storage device including a nonvolatile storage, a volatile memory, and a nonvolatile memory that is accessible faster than the nonvolatile storage, the method comprising:
- selecting one or more types of updated management information that is stored in the volatile memory and not yet saved in the nonvolatile storage, based on a recovery time associated with each type of updated management information;
- and
- in response to interruption of power supply to the storage device from an external power source, carrying out data saving of said selected types of updated management information to the nonvolatile memory.
