Gasket having upper and lower active layers and a spacer layer

A gasket, comprising:

• a uniform thickness spacer layer sandwiched between two uniform thickness rubber coated metal upper active layers and two uniform thickness rubber coated metal lower active layers, each of said layers having aligned openings;
• a first tab integrally formed from at least one of said upper active layers, said tab having an angled portion, said angled portion located in at least one of said aligned openings, said angled portion located in a first slot located in said spacer layer;
• a second tab integrally formed in a flange of one of said upper active layers, said tab having an angled portion, said angled portion located in a second slot located in said spacer layer, wherein said first tab and said second tab are formed from both of said upper active layers;
• a third tab integrally formed from at least one of said lower active layers, said tab having an angled portion, said angled portion located in at least one of said aligned openings, said angled portion located in a third slot located in said spacer layer;
• and
• a fourth tab integrally formed in a flange of one of said lower active layers, said tab having an angled portion, said angled portion located in a fourth slot located in said spacer layer;
• wherein said third tab and said fourth tab are formed from both of said lower active layers.
