Feed system for crystal pulling systems

A system for growing silicon crystal structures, the system comprising:

• a housing defining a growth chamber;
• a feed system connected to the housing and configured for delivering silicon particles to the growth chamber, the feed system comprising:
• a container for holding the silicon particles, the container comprising:
• an outlet for discharging the silicon particles;
• and
• an outlet extension configured such that a layer of silicon particles collects adjacent the outlet extension;
• a channel for silicon particles discharged from the container to flow through, the channel having an interior surface;
• a liner adjacent the interior surface of the channel to inhibit the silicon particles contacting the interior surface;
• at least one barrier disposed in the channel to slow the flow of silicon particles through the channel.
