Abstract
A screen for an extractor system can have a top surface that a solid material contacts during operation of the extractor, a bottom surface opposite the top surface, and a plurality of apertures extending from the top surface through the bottom surface. In one example, the bottom surface of the screen is coated with a non-stick coating while the top surface of the screen is devoid of the non-stick coating.

An extractor comprising:
- an extraction chamber;
- a screen configured to support a solid material as the solid material is conveyed through the extraction chamber;
- and
- a conveyance system configured to convey the solid material along the screen in a direction of material travel,
- wherein the screen has a top surface that the solid material contacts during operation, a bottom surface opposite the top surface, and a plurality of apertures extending from the top surface through the bottom surface, the bottom surface of the screen being coated with a non-stick coating while the top surface of the screen is devoid of the non-stick coating.

A method comprising:
- installing a screen inside of an extraction chamber, the screen having a top surface, a bottom surface opposite the top surface, and a plurality of apertures extending from the top surface through the bottom surface, and the bottom surface of the screen being coated with a non-stick coating while the top surface of the screen is devoid of the non-stick coating;
- introducing a solid material to be processed into the extraction chamber and conveying the solid material along the top surface of the screen devoid of non-stick coating;
- contacting the solid material with an extraction liquid, as the solid material is conveyed along the top surface of the screen devoid of non-stick coating, and thereby extracting components extractable in the extraction liquid from the solid material, and
- draining the extraction liquid and any extracted components from the solid material contained therein through the plurality of apertures, thereby causing at least a portion of the extraction liquid to contact the non-stick coating on the bottom surface of the screen.
