Abstract
Methods and apparatus to reduce biological carryover using induction heating are disclosed herein. An example method includes washing an aspiration and dispense device. The example method includes generating an alternating electromagnetic field and introducing the aspiration and dispense device into the alternating electromagnetic field. In the example method, the washing is to occur prior to introducing the aspiration and dispense device into the alternating electromagnetic field. The example method includes inductively heating the aspiration and dispense device with the alternating electromagnetic field.
Claims23
A method comprising:
- washing an aspiration and dispense device;
- generating an alternating electromagnetic field;
- introducing the aspiration and dispense device into the alternating electromagnetic field, the washing to occur prior to introducing the aspiration and dispense device into the alternating electromagnetic field;
- and
- inductively heating the aspiration and dispense device with the alternating electromagnetic field.
A method comprising:
- generating an alternating electromagnetic field;
- introducing an aspiration and dispense device into the alternating electromagnetic field;
- inductively heating the aspiration and dispense device with the alternating electromagnetic field;
- and
- washing the aspiration and dispense device after inductively heating the aspiration and dispense device with the electromagnetic field.
A method comprising:
- generating an alternating electromagnetic field by flowing a current though an electrically conducting media, a frequency of the current to be based on a characteristic of an aspiration and dispense device;
- introducing the aspiration and dispense into the alternating electromagnetic field;
- inductively heating the aspiration and dispense device with the electromagnetic field;
- and
- raising or lowering the aspiration and dispense device through the alternating electromagnetic field to inductively heat the aspiration and dispense device along a length of the aspiration and dispense device.
A method comprising:
- generating an alternating electromagnetic field using a current via an electromagnetic field generator;
- detecting a change in the current based on a load change with respect to the electromagnetic field generator or a temperature change or;
- detecting a presence of an aspiration and dispense device in the alternating electromagnetic field based on the change;
- and
- inductively heating the aspiration and dispense device with the electromagnetic field.
