The present invention relates to methods of treating Leigh Syndrome and Leigh-like Syndrome with tocotrienol quinones, including alpha-tocotrienol quinone, in order to alleviate symptoms of the disease.

A method of treating Leigh Syndrome or Leigh-like Syndrome in an individual, comprising administering a therapeutically effective amount of a compound selected from the group consisting of tocotrienol quinones and tocotrienol hydroquinones to an individual suffering from Leigh Syndrome or Leigh-like Syndrome.
A unit dosage formulation of alpha-tocotrienol quinone.
