Abstract
An intragastric weight-loss device is disclosed. The device includes a proximal occlusion member comprising a spiral structure, a bridging member, and a distal occlusion member. The spiral structure can be configured to spiral into a bulbous shape when the proximal occlusion member is delivered into the stomach. The bridging member can extend from the proximal occlusion member. The distal occlusion member can be coupled to a distal end of the bridging member. The proximal occlusion member can be configured to intermittently obstruct a pyloric valve of a patient such that passage of food through the pyloric valve is slowed.
Claims19
An intragastric weight-loss device, comprising:
- a first occlusion member comprising a spiral structure, wherein the spiral structure is configured to form into a bulbous shape when the first occlusion member is delivered into the stomach;
- a bridging member extending from the first occlusion member;
- and
- a second occlusion member coupled to a distal end of the bridging member, wherein the first occlusion member is configured to intermittently obstruct the pyloric valve of a patient such that passage of food through the pyloric valve is slowed.
The device of claim wherein the first occlusion member comprises a compressed delivery configuration and an expanded deployed configuration.
An intragastric weight-loss device, comprising:
- an occlusion member comprising a spiral structure, wherein the spiral structure is configured to form into a bulbous shape when the occlusion member is delivered into the stomach;
- wherein the occlusion member comprises a compressed delivery configuration and an expanded deployed configuration;
- wherein the occlusion member is expandable from the compressed delivery configuration into the expanded deployed configuration when the occlusion member is within the stomach;
- and
- wherein the occlusion member is configured to intermittently obstruct the pyloric valve of a patient such that passage of food through the pyloric valve is slowed.
Dependencies are inferred from the claim text.
