Abstract
Systems and methods for improving operation of an engine are presented. In one example, a position of a throttle is adjusted along with other actuators to improve engine starting.
Claims14
A method of adjusting cylinder air charge of an engine, comprising:
- adjusting a fuel injection timing of a cylinder to a stroke of the cylinder that varies as a difference between a desired engine speed and an actual engine speed varies and adjusting an amount of fuel supplied to the cylinder in response to cylinder air charge.
8-14. (canceled)
A hybrid vehicle system, comprising:
- an engine;
- a dual mass flywheel (DMF) including a first side mechanically coupled to the engine;
- a driveline disconnect clutch including a first side coupled to a second side of the dual mass flywheel;
- a driveline integrated starter/generator (DISG) including a first side coupled to a second side of the driveline disconnect clutch;
- and
- a controller including non-transitory instructions executable to adjust fuel injection timing to a cylinder in response to a desired engine speed that is based on a torque converter impeller speed while a torque converter impeller is not mechanically coupled to the engine.
