Abstract
A tile and non-vegetative ground covering setting device including a housing, slidable rods with turning support means and stationing means are described herein. In some examples, the setting device includes a pair of housings and two pairs of slidable rods. In other examples, a slidable rod may be positioned perpendicularly to the other slidable rods. The device also comprises a platform, a handle, and an adequate number of securing means to maintain integrity of the device.
Claims20
A device for arranging coverings on a substrate comprising:
- at least one upper housing;
- at least one lower housing
- a plurality of slidable rods having turnable means;
- at least one slidable rod having a stationing means;
- and
- a platform having a handle.

A method of arranging and setting tile using a device comprising the steps of:
- selecting a tile;
- sliding a first parallel slidable rod having a turnable support means to accommodate the far edge of the tile;
- sliding a second parallel slidable rod having a turnable, support means to accommodate the near edge of the tile;
- sliding a perpendicular slidable rod having a spacing means to accommodate the outer edge of the tile;
- securing the first parallel slidable rod and the second parallel slidable rod within a housing by tightening a stationing means to prevent lateral movement and tightening a securing means to prevent forward and backward movement;
- securing the perpendicular slidable rod by tightening a securing means to prevent forward and backward movement;
- inserting the tile between the parallel slidable rods and resting it on a foot of the turnable support means at the end of each parallel slidable rod;
- moving the tile sideways until an edge rests against a stationing means of the perpendicular slidable rod;
- transporting the tile to the desired location and positioning it over the substrate;
- resting the foot of each parallel slidable rod on the substrate;
- using a perpendicular slidable rod to position the tile in the desired location on the substrate;
- rotating the turnable support means until the foot is positioned away from the edge of the tile and the tile comes in direct contact with the substrate;
- and
- pulling the stationing means upward to release the device from the stone.
