Diversion sand and methods of using the same are described herein. The sand includes particles that have a coating. The coating comprises one or more water dissolvable layer(s).

A method comprising:
- introducing a solution comprising diversion sand into a hydrocarbon wellbore, wherein the diversion sand includes particles having a coating, the coating comprising a water dissolvable layer.
A method comprising introducing a solution comprising diversion sand into a hydrocarbon wellbore, wherein the diversion sand includes particles comprising PVOH and/or PVA.
Diversion sand comprising particles having a coating, the coating comprising a water dissolvable layer.
Diversion sand including particles, wherein the particles comprise PVOH and/or PVA.
