A process for inhibiting galvanic corrosion of an aluminum structure connected, without using a splice plate, to a composite structure comprising a fiber comprising graphite, the process comprising:
- preventing the aluminum structure from contacting the composite structure via:
- bonding the composite structure to a first end of a stack comprising metal sheets, such that the connection comprises a fingered lap joint, the metal sheets comprising titanium;
- and
- connecting, without using the splice plate, the stack to the aluminum structure such that the aluminum structure does not contact the composite structure.
