Abstract
Certain embodiments may include systems and methods that comprise for injecting biofuel into a gas turbine system. The systems and methods comprise of storing a biofuel in a storage tank, injecting a first blend of biofuel into a first gas turbine, and injecting a second blend of biofuel in a second gas turbine concurrently with the injecting of the first blend into the first gas turbine. The method may further comprise creating turbine specific blends in real time by varying an amount of the respective blend of biofuel injected into each turbine.
Claims20
A biofuel injection system for injecting biofuel into a gas turbine system, comprising:
- a biofuel storage tank;
- a common heating skid coupled to the biofuel tank;
- a common filtration skid coupled to the common heating skid;
- a common pumping skid coupled to the common filtration skid;
- a first injection skid, coupled to the common pumping skid, operable to inject a first blend of biofuel into a first gas turbine;
- and
- a second injection skid, coupled to the common pumping skid, operable to inject a second blend of biofuel into a second gas turbine concurrently with an injection of the first blend of biofuel into the first gas turbine.
A method for injecting biofuel into a gas turbine system, comprising:
- storing a biofuel in a storage tank;
- creating turbine specific blends by varying an amount of biofuel injected directly into an injection skid of the gas turbine system.
- mixing the injected biofuel and a distillate with one or more screw pumps to create a biofuel/distillate blend prior to injection into a gas turbine;
- and
- injecting the blend of biofuel into the gas turbine.
