Cellulosic and lignocellulosic structural materials and methods and systems for manufacturing such materials

A method of processing wood to produce a finished product, the method comprising:

• debarking logs to produce debarked logs;
• sawing the debarked logs to produce sawn lumber;
• edging the sawn lumber to produce edged lumber;
• trimming the edged lumber to produce trimmed lumber;
• manufacturing the finished product from the trimmed lumber;
• and
• during the method, irradiating one or more of the debarked logs, the sawn lumber, the edged lumber, the trimmed lumber and the finished product.
