Methods and Nodes in a Wireless Communication Network

A method for providing timing information concerning at least one other network node to a mobile station, the method comprising:

• at a network node, determining timing information for periodic monitoring of said at least one other network node operating in discontinuous transmission mode, wherein the timing information is based on time-frequency characteristics of at least one downlink signal transmitted by said at least one other network node to be monitored;
• and
• transmitting a signal comprising said timing information, associated with periodic monitoring of said at least one other network node operating in discontinuous transmission mode, to the at least one mobile station.

A method for periodically monitoring at least one other network node operating in discontinuous transmission mode based on timing information received from a network node, the method comprising:

• at a mobile station, receiving a signal from the network node, the received signal comprising timing information for periodically monitoring of said at least one other network node operating in discontinuous transmission mode, based on time-frequency characteristics of at least one downlink signal transmitted by said at least one other network node to be monitored;
• and
• monitoring said at least one other network node operating in discontinuous transmission mode, periodically according to the received signal.
