Abstract
A method and apparatus for transmitting information for device-to-device (D2D) operation in a wireless communication system is provided. A user equipment (UE) establishes a radio resource control (RRC) connection with a network. If the UE has interest to perform D2D operation, the UE transmits D2D information to the network. The D2D information may indicate various pieces of information.

A method for transmitting, by a user equipment (UE), information for device-to-device (D2D) operation in a wireless communication system, the method comprising:
- establishing, by the UE, a radio resource control (RRC) connection with a network;
- and
- transmitting, by the UE, D2D information indicating that the UE has interest to perform the D2D operation to the network.
A user equipment (UE) configured to transmit information for device-to-device (D2D) operation in a wireless communication system, the UE comprising:
- a radio frequency (RF) unit configured to transmit or receive a radio signal;
- and
- a processor coupled to the RF unit, and configured to:
- establish a radio resource control (RRC) connection with a network;
- and
- transmit D2D information indicating that the UE has interest to perform the D2D operation to the network.
