Abstract
Somecast/anycast service may function at the service layer and include service nodes/groups selection and post-selection processing. Somecast/anycast information may be used for identifying different scenarios of anycast/somecast, facilitating service nodes selection, and handling retransmission.

An apparatus comprising:
- a processor;
- and
- a memory coupled with the processor, the memory comprising executable instructions that when executed by the processor cause the processor to effectuate operations comprising:
- receiving a first request message comprising instructions to somecast using a service layer;
- determining target nodes based on selection criteria in the request message;
- and
- sending a second request message to the target nodes to perform a desired operation.
