Abstract
Provided is a vacuum insulator having both an excellent insulating performance and an excellent bending strength. A vacuum insulator (1) is configured by a sack-shaped enveloping member (3) and at least one sheet (7) including a plurality of inorganic fibers and includes a core member (5) enclosed in the enveloping member (3). The sheet (7) includes a plurality of bundled inorganic fibers (9) formed by bundling some inorganic fibers from among the plurality of inorganic fibers. At least a part of the bundled inorganic fibers (9) are in contact with each other.
Claims30
A refrigerator comprising:
- an outer case;
- an inner case accommodated in the outer case;
- a refrigerating cycle;
- and
- a vacuum insulator disposed between the outer case and the inner case,
- wherein the vacuum insulator comprises:
- a sack-shaped enveloping member having a gas barrier property;
- and
- a core member enclosed in the enveloping member and comprising one sheet including a plurality of inorganic fibers or a plurality of stacked sheets, and
- an inside of the enveloping member is decompressed.
A vacuum insulator comprising:
- a sack-shaped enveloping member having a gas barrier property;
- and
- a core member enclosed in the enveloping member and comprising one sheet including a plurality of inorganic fibers or a plurality of stacked sheets,
- wherein an inside of the enveloping member is decompressed.
A method of fabricating a vacuum insulator, the method comprising:
- preparing inorganic fibers fabricated by a continuous filament method;
- bundling the inorganic fibers by adding a bundling agent;
- cutting the bundled inorganic fibers to fabricate cut inorganic fibers;
- putting a dispersion agent and the cut inorganic fibers into a dispersion medium to disperse the cut inorganic fibers into dispersed inorganic fibers;
- fabricating a roll-shaped sheet including the dispersed inorganic fibers using a sheet forming machine;
- fabricating a core member by cutting the sheet and then stacking pieces of the cut sheet or by stacking and then cutting sheets;
- drying the core member using a drying furnace;
- inserting the dried core member into an enveloping member together with an adsorbent selectively;
- and
- discharging inside air of a sack-shaped enveloping member in a vacuum chamber so that an inside of the sack-shaped enveloping member is in a vacuum state and fusing and sealing an opening of the enveloping member.
