Abstract
The invention relates to an insert brazed on a body of cutting tools (101), consisting of: a metal substrate (11), in the form of plates, having a surface for attachment to the tool body; a high-temperature, brazing, alloy layer (12); an intermediate layer; and a ceramic plate (14). The brazing alloy layer connects the metal substrate (11) of the ceramic plate (14) via the metal layer (13). A low-temperature brazing layer (1) connects the insert (1, 1′) to the body of the tool (101).
Claims13
1) Cutting insert for brazing onto a cutting tool body for working wood-based composite materials and having been superposed and assembled,
- a metal substrate (11) in the form of a plate with a fasting surface (11 a) to the tool body,
- a high-temperature brazing alloy layer (12)
- an intermediate metal layer (13)
- a ceramic plate (14) of alumina (A1203), of zirconia-yttria (3Y—Zr02) or a combination of these compounds,
- the brazing alloy layer (12) connecting the metal support (11) to the ceramic plate by means of the metal layer (13), and
- the high-temperature brazing alloy (12) is an alloy of silver-copper (Ag—Cu) with more than 50% by volume of silver (Ag) or an alloy (Ag-Ind-Ti).
5) Cutting tool according to claim 6, characterized in that the low-temperature brazing alloy is a silver-copper alloy (Ag—Cu) containing at least 60% by volume of silver (Ag).
6) Production method of a cutting tool for working wood-based composite materials comprising a metal body designed for mounting to a machine and at least one cutting insert (1, 1′) integral with the tool body consisting in fastening the cutting insert to the metal tool body, characterized in that it consists in:
- a) using a plate made of at least one grade of ceramic oxide, chosen from a family of ceramic grades comprising alumina (A12O3) or zirconia-yttria (3Y—ZrO2) or a mixture of grades of ceramic oxides chosen from alumina (A12O3), zirconia (ZrO2) and zirconia-yttria (3Y—ZrO2), (14A) and a metal substrate plate (11A) of approximately the same size as the ceramic plate (14A),
- b) applying a first brazing alloy (12A) between the ceramic plate (14A) and the metal substrate plate (11A), carried out using a material chosen from tungsten carbide, steel, tungsten carbide (WC—Co) composite WC—XCo (with X≧30% Co) and nickel steel (C45) in particular based on steel (16MnCr5) or steel (C45), and the depositing of a metal layer between the ceramic plate (14A) and the first brazing alloy;
- c) brazing the ceramic plate (14A) to the substrate plate (11A) by high-temperature vacuum brazing with the first brazing alloy, the high-temperature brazing alloy (12) being a silver-copper alloy (Ag—Cu) with more than 50% by volume of silver (Ag) or an alloy (Ag-Ind-Ti).
- d) cutting out of the assembly (20) obtained in this way the cutting inserts (1, 1′),
- e) brazing the cutting insert (1, 1′) on to the tool body by brazing at atmospheric temperature, at low temperature, with a second brazing alloy.
