Abstract
A disposable absorbent article may include a first waist region, a second waist region, a crotch region disposed between the first and the second waist regions, and a chassis having a topsheet, backsheet, absorbent core, and chassis periphery. The chassis periphery has a varying width, Wv. The varying width Wv has a first maximum width, W1, in the first waist region, a minimum width, Wmin, in the crotch region, and a second maximum width, W2, in the second waist region, wherein W1 is greater than W2.

A disposable absorbent article for wearing about the lower torso of a wearer, the disposable absorbent article comprising:
- a first waist region having a first waist edge, a second waist region having a second waist edge, a crotch region disposed between the first and second waist regions;
- and a first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal edge;
- and a longitudinal centerline;
- a chassis comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and backsheet;
- and
- a back ear joined to the chassis in the second waist region;
- wherein the first longitudinal edge, second longitudinal edge, first waist edge and second waist edge define a chassis periphery and the chassis periphery comprises a varying width, Wv, the varying width Wv comprising a first maximum width, W1, in the first waist region, a minimum width, Wmin, in the crotch region, and a second maximum width, W2, in the second waist region, wherein W1 is greater than W2.
A disposable absorbent article for wearing about the lower torso of a wearer, the disposable absorbent article comprising:
- a first waist region having a first waist edge, a second waist region having a second waist edge, a crotch region disposed between the first and second waist regions;
- and a first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal edge;
- and a longitudinal centerline;
- a chassis comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and backsheet;
- wherein the first longitudinal edge, second longitudinal edge, first waist edge and second waist edge define a chassis periphery and the chassis periphery comprises a varying width, Wv, the varying width Wv comprising a first maximum width, W1, in the first waist region, a minimum width, Wmin, in the crotch region, and a second maximum width, W2, in the second waist region, wherein W1 is greater than W2;
- and
- an elasticized component joined to the chassis, and comprising an elasticized region.
A disposable absorbent article for wearing about the lower torso of a wearer, the disposable absorbent article comprising:
- a first waist region having a first waist edge, a second waist region having a second waist edge, a crotch region disposed between the first and second waist regions;
- and a first longitudinal edge and a second longitudinal edge;
- and a longitudinal centerline;
- a chassis comprising a topsheet, a backsheet, and an absorbent core disposed between the topsheet and backsheet, wherein the chassis comprises a chassis periphery defined by the first and second waist edges and the first and second longitudinal edges;
- and wherein the chassis periphery comprises a hour-glass shape;
- and
- a discrete ear joined to a garment-facing side of the chassis in the second waist region, wherein the discrete ear comprises a fastener having a inboard fastener edge and a minimum lateral distance between the inboard fastener edge and the chassis periphery, DLE-FE, is from about 0 mm to about 40 mm such that the chassis periphery is coterminous with or inboard of the inboard fastener edge at the minimum lateral distance.
